Old Bloodfields (84-88)(PoK>TP to Plane of Time>Portal to The Void>Old Bloodfields) - While it won't be as good as it was as a hot zone, OBF is still a pretty good place to pick up these levels. Very easy to set up a spot and pull away on the gorillas and birds. The other room is basically in the exact same spot except on the left side of the map. You can do 2 pathings in this patch (13.1B): The mob level goes up to 92-94. With a group of actual people, this place is awesome though. House of Thule armor is pretty damn good for it's level. Loot isn't spectacular but with a decent group, you will shred mobs and the exp will flow like water. At 82 or straight away if you have a group, head down through the mansion to the basement area. I honestly think it's kinda trash because either you're killing "relatively weak" classified mobs or the creatures just have too many HP, but from 30-35 it's ok. Spend 48-52 in the area around where you zone in and the northern areas of the zone. Stay at the entrance until you get to 80, then you can push into the north pathway. NB Loot is rubbish but you don't have to buy any armor until 65. I know there are a LOT of mobs you can access off this area, but have no idea what nameds if any are common here. Don't ask me for how you do each HA. A single heroic 85 is all that is really needed to roll over the content though, which shouldn't be hard to find on any server you're on. The run isn't terrible, but all of the SoV outdoor zones are enormous so it's further than it looks. This works out to 4 AA (6 AA on Test) an hour while AFK. Air sucks for dps and tanking in classic, can be useful in groups against casters, in Lower Guk for example. If you're a damn the torpedos type, you can pull the fire troops around the giant Solusek Ro, who is standing there in all his glory. Multiple mercs with heals, buffs, and DPS and you can soar through here. From level 1-100 and from Luclin to Call of the Forsaken, all AA's but crafting are given to you for free. This zone is sometimes a hotzone. Don't know how popular that still is, but it's still not hard to get anything done. The mobs in four of these level boosted zones drop Glowing Athlai and Othni armor pieces, which can be turned in for armor that is great from 71-80. This should be a priority. As of the Terror of Luclin expansion, the best mercenary equipment is "Vigilant", which is obtained in The Burning Lands zones. It's very very easy to do, easily completed solo by all classes. If you have access to it, the TBM Crypt-Hunter gear is comparable to every expansions group gear until 105 and you can upgrade it with augments so that it levels with you in 5 level blocks. Never a good idea to go fully afk. There are numerous groups in Empires of Kunark, but lets say you're not feeling up to that yet. you will only be able to select an Apprentice Mercenary. This will easily take you to 56-57. All of the tier 3 House of Thule zones work here, but I like Fear Itself since it's mostly just a revamped Plane of Fear, which I have fond memories of dying in. Mob HP is ridiculously low since this is a vanilla zone and these levels go by without much attention having to be paid. Also during spell cooldowns they will use agro reducing abilities. A great place to solo for a lot of classes at 105 for AAs. It doesnt matter if you have no interest in playing the new characters when they reach the high end game. It's also a hot zone and that makes it really worth it. Worth about half a level in that range. I fully admit that there are abilities some classes have that completely lower the bar for entry to a zone or extend the life of a zone a couple of levels. Loping Plains(75-80)(PoK>Steamfont Mountains>Loping Plains) - At 75 come here and head around past Bloodmoon Keep. Up to about level 35 a red con gave me 10%-25% XP. (Using ISBoxer is useful to this; please reference my other guide for info) It doesnt matter what the composition is of your 3 box team. But first about the zone. Resplendent Temple is awful in my opinion, with it being nearly impossible to pull singles, and Pillars of Alra is hard to get to (you have to run through a lot of angry Alarins who can see invis in Resplendent Temple) and easy to get yourself killed in, for much the same reason.
